CBD, or Cannabidiol, is a natural constituent in cannabis and hemp plants and is one of over 80 cannabinoids, natural compounds found in the marijuana plant. Cannibinoids are thought to provide their benefit by acting on our bodies’ endocannibinoid system. Just like the muscular, skeletal, or cardiovascular system; you also have an endocannabinoid system. Researchers suggest that it may be effective for many mental health conditions such as panic disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, social anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. The natural sedatives in CBD oil reduce stress over time and can also contribute to a better night sleep.
Another promising benefit from taking CBD is the improvement in acne prone skin. Acne is caused, in part, by inflammation and overworked sebaceous glands on the body. CBD helps to lower the production of sebum that leads to acne, partly because of its anti-inflammatory effect on the body.
Although CBD is considerably safe and has low toxicity, a few side effects include mild low blood pressure, dry mouth, lightheadedness, and sedation.
